Discovering K Cup Tea Simplicity
What is often troubling for many ritual coffee drinkers is the fact that they have to wait for hot tea or coffee to brew in order to get a fresh steamy cup to sip. Keuring has made sure these java guzzling or tea-sipping segment of the population can be enjoying K Cup teas in about 60 seconds.
They have designed a brewing system made to produce one single cup that uses a plastic cup that resemble a small kid-sized lunchtime pudding cup. Each cup contains a filter and is punctured by the special Keruig K-Cup Coffee Maker through the bottom of the cup and through its air-sealed foil lid. The coffee and tea maker then sends pressurized hot water through the holes and creates a drip below for users to catch K Cup Teas or coffee in a cup.
The special technology is not exclusive to K Cup teas, either. Keurig has licensed other companies to use its special brewer. Some of those companies include: Bigelow Tea Company, Celestial Seasonings and Twinings for tea makers and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Van Houtte and Caribou Coffee for coffee makers.
One of the benefits of drinking K Cup teas is that the Keurig brewer, which retails for between $99 and $160, takes some of the guesswork out of drinking coffee and tea. With teas, you have to guess how long to steep to get the desired strength. With coffee, the guesswork goes into figuring out how many coffee grinds to brew. The portion pack erases this guesswork; smaller containers are stronger brews.
The Keurig brewer also gives you the choice to drink either hot or cold tea. For cold tea brew, you must add water and ice.
A major benefit of the K Cup concept is the variety of coffee and tea flavors and brands that are available to you. Even celebrity chef Emeril LaGasse and Ghiradelli (hot chocolate) have offerings for the Keurig brewer. For approximately $13.95, you get a 24-cup pack of a single flavor or enjoy a variety pack. You can open the pack, close your eyes, blindly pick a flavor, and be enjoying K Cup teas in about a minute.
