He got to sing with Mohammed Rafi in his Hindi playback launch in film Unees-Bees in 1980 & also with Kishore Kumar in the 1980s. Narayan finally create his mark in the 1988 picture Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak starring Aamir Khan & Juhi Chawla, his song “Papa Kehte Hain” was his notable show which received him his 1st Film fare Award in the 1980s & he fixed himself in Bollywood Playback Vocalist.
