OK Computer Web Series review: Disappointing murder mystery

OK Computer Web Series review: A disappointing murder mystery: I was really excited about this show. When I saw the trailer, I thought it is something that Indian TV doesn’t explore much. So, it was something new and unique and I went to watch this with really high expectations.

I was ready for another good web series like JL50, but it turned out to be really bad. I was struggling to complete even one episode after some time and that says something about a show.

The start of the show is quite promising, with good use of VFX and some good satirical comedy scenes. But after that, it felt flat.

The way they have unnecessarily extended that satirical comedy makes it feels like an agenda drive show. The stereotype in the show is also at the next level, it gets so annoying so fast.

OK Computer Plot

OK Computer Web Series review: The show is set in 2031 in India where is a superpower, especially in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics.

Not only this, India have developed a code by which Robots can become an autonomous being. By using the code, the robot can become ever-evolving like humans.

That is where the main plot of the show starts. An autonomous taxi in Goa, performed a very gruesome-looking murder and the story starts from there.

Just by looking at the plot, the show looks so promising. But with so many annoying characters, unnecessary lame jokes, and no depths to any character completely butchered the show.

In the end, I do not know which murder was more gruesome, the murder of the character or the murder of the script.

OK Computer Cast

The cast of the show is so good and long. Every single actor in the show has given some strong performances in their career.

Vijay Varma as Saajan Kundu, Radhika Apte as Laxmi Suri, Kani Kusruti as Monalisa Paul, Ullas Mohan as Ajeeb, Vibha Chhibber as Deepa Chandra Prasad, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee as Trisha Singh, Sarang Sathaye as Ashfaq Auliya, Alok Ulfat as Nigel Paudwal, and Jackie Shroff as Pushpak Shakur.

Disney + Hotstar sold this show on the shoulders of three actors. Vijay Varma, Radhika Apte, and Jackie Shroff. Vijay Varma is such a good actor but the script completely wastes his talents.

His character has no depth and lots of lame comedy scenes. There is nothing much to be said about Jackie Shroff, he is doing the same thing that he always does.

I am so shocked by how badly they have to use Radhika Apte here. She is in the show for its entirety, and not a single scene is worthwhile.

There is a cameo appearance of Tanmay Bhatt and Kunal Kamra, but again the script didn’t do any justice to their talent.

The show is directed by Neil Pagedar and Pooja Shetty and they have an amazing job in some scenes but felt flat in another. Anand Gandhi has produced some gems in recent times like Andekhi, I don’t know what went wrong here. But he is the writer and producer of the series.

OK Computer Conclusion

There were some positive points in the show. Like the camerawork, use of VFX, and some of the satire they tried to use. But they unnecessarily extended the satire to a level that it became annoying. And the negatives in this show are too much that you don’t even focus on the good after some time. Overall, you can miss this show and you won’t miss anything major, to be honest.
